Moscow railway stations: Getting around and airport connections

Long-distance trains in Moscow depart from several stations spread across the city. Your travel details specify the station used for your particular connection. This is especially important when transferring between a long-distance train and an airport service.

Choose the station for your connection

Some of the best-known long-distance stations are Belorussky, Savyolovsky and Paveletsky. They also play a role in getting to the airports: Aeroexpress trains connect Sheremetyevo with Belorussky and Savyolovsky stations, and Domodedovo with Paveletsky station. The respective Moscow airport pages describe these routes.

Changing trains in the city

The stations are connected to the city’s public transport network. To get to your next train or accommodation, it helps to know the exact station name and the location of your destination. For airport connections, you also need to check the terminal complex and the station shown on your ticket.

Some of the station buildings are notable landmarks in their own right. Komsomolskaya Square brings together several stations and is also served by the metro station of the same name.
