Moscow Airports: SVO, DME, and VKO

When traveling to Moscow, the airport shown on your ticket determines the best way to continue your journey. The three airports most relevant to scheduled passenger travel are Sheremetyevo (SVO), Domodedovo (DME), and Vnukovo (VKO). Their connections to the city differ considerably.

Sheremetyevo (SVO)

Aeroexpress connects Sheremetyevo with Belorussky and Savyolovsky railway stations. Trains serve the northern Terminal Zone B/C and the southern Terminal Zone D/E/F. Express buses also run between the airport and Khovrino metro station. For details about the terminals and how to get there, see the overview of Sheremetyevo Airport.

Domodedovo (DME)

The Aeroexpress to Domodedovo departs from Paveletsky railway station; the stated journey time is around 45 minutes. Another option is the express bus to Domodedovskaya metro station. For more information on getting there, see the page about Domodedovo Airport.

Vnukovo (VKO)

Aeroport Vnukovo metro station on the yellow Solntsevskaya line is directly connected to Terminal A by an underground passage. The description of Vnukovo Airport explains this connection.

When planning your accommodation, consider not only the airfare but also the connection from your arrival airport to your destination in Moscow. Checking the airport code on your booking helps avoid confusion between terminals and railway stations that are far apart.
