One of the most famous hotels of the Russian capital, The Moscow Hotel, which is currently being reconstructed, will be opened in 2013 under the management of the Four Seasons international operator.
The Moscow Hotel is one of the largest hotels in the Russian capital built in the 30s of the last century as one of the first in the Soviet era. The hotel was designed by the architects L.Saveliev, O.Stapran and A.Shchusev and was harmoniously fit into the surrounding landscape of the Moscow Kremlin.
The hotel is located in the heart of the capital and at different times received in its comfortable rooms such famous people as Aleksei Stakhanov, Valery Chkalov, Demjan Bednyi, Ilya Ehrenburg, Georgy Zhukov, Konstantin Rokossovsky, Mikhail Zharov, Arkadiy Raikin, Frederic Joliot-Curie, Yuri Gagarin and the first Russian President Boris Yeltsin.
In 2003 it was closed for the reconstruction, which had been planned to be finished in the second half of 2013.
As a result of the reconstruction the hotel area will be increased from 98,000 to more than 180,000 square meters. According to the new project, The Moscow Hotel will fully retain its original facade, designed by the renowned architect Alexei Shchusev, but will get unique contemporary design and functional content.
Opening of the renovated Moscow Hotel is scheduled for mid-2013. Hotels and apartments in Moscow can be booked online on www.privet-moscow.com.
