The 5th World Circus Festival will be held from September 30 to October 2, 2011 in Moscow at the Small Sports Arena of the "Luzhniki" Olympic complex. Festival is dedicated to the Prince of Monaco Rainier III, who 37 years ago organized the world's most prestigious international circus festival in Monte Carlo. Tens of thousands of festival guests will get a unique opportunity to watch live performances of the best circus troupes from around the world.
And though the Moscow Circus Festival is very young in comparison with similar events in other countries, thanks to a very good organization, as well as the fact that the jury selects only the most interesting and highly professional performances, it won a great popularity among the true lovers of the circus art. And so victory at the Moscow Festival is very prestigious for the circus troupes. During the first two days of the festival the jury selects three winners, which will be awarded at the solemn ceremony on September 2 during the final gala concert.
Program of the 5th festival will be opened with parade presentation about the Rainier III, his contribution to the development of the circus movement, his affair with a famous American movie star Grace Kelly, from whose hands many artists received the highest prize - "Golden Clown".
As a part of the World Festival of Circus Art jury and the audience will be presented the following performances: Chinese "Pyramid" by tightrope walkers Jang Gang and Mu Qiang; "Kara Kavak" by Yolanda Navilla and Luigi Anton Kok from Italy; attraction "Among the predators" by Edgar and Askold Zapashnyj from Russia; "Gerlings" by the rope-walker troupe Rodriguez from Colombia; "Club House" comic duo from the United States; KiBu troupe with "Flying masts" from China and "Improvisation. Jazz" by the Russian juggler Rudolph Levitsky.
