In the coming days, the Moscow Metro will please its passengers with a variety of stunning themed events commemorating 75th anniversary of the Moscow Metro.
One of the first events will be Poetical reading of the Writers' Union, through which in the Moscow subway will be presented poetry. During the entire week specifically written and selected poems of famous Moscow authors performed subway announcers will be broadcasted from the opening until 11 pm, at more than 160 stations and escalators, underpasses and box rooms. Among the authors will be presented such names as Elena Ivanova-Verkhovskaya, Sergei Belorusets, Elena Mussalitina, Alexander Gerasimov, Alexander Smirnov and Maxim Sharapov.
On May 12, in honor of the upcoming anniversary of Moscow's subway will be launched new thematic train "Watercolor", presenting reproductions of watercolor artists from the unique collection of the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts. Watercolor will depart at 11:30 from the Partizanskaya station and will run on Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya metro line.
On May 15, the day of the 75th anniversary of the Moscow metro, will be held the grand opening of "Dostoevskaya" and "Mar’ina Rosha", which launch was postponed last year because of the economic crisis. Also on this day passengers will be able to hear not only the poems of contemporary poets of Moscow, but also the songs from old films about Moscow "I’m walking through Moscow", "On Zarechnaya Street", "Lonely harmonica", "Awake and Sing" and many other familiar and beloved music.
The final event of the celebrations in honor of 75 anniversary of the Moscow metro will be a unique concert, which will take place on the night from 15 to 16 of May at the "Kropotkinskaya" station. According to the press service of the Moscow Metro, similar night concerts can be a new unusual tradition of the Moscow Metro.
