This summer will bring to the Russian capital not just sunny days, vacations and long-awaited new collections of clothes, but also XII Grand Moscow International Beer Festival, which according to the Moscow authorities despite protests from the State Duma deputies will certainly take place from 3 to 11 July in Moscow.
Mayor of Moscow Yuri Luzhkov signed a special decree on the organization and conducting of the Grand Moscow International Beer Festival despite the protests of the State Duma, leaders of the "Our Health Project", calling colleagues for doing everything possible that could disrupt the festival. The main reason for such a rigid opposition is selling beer to minors, which massively occurred at the beer festival last year.
Organizers of the Grand Moscow Beer Festival said that holding a beer festival does not pursue the aim of promotion of alcohol, but moderation and culture of drinking. To prevent underage drinking in the upcoming festival will take place the action "Are you 18? Prove it!".
At the XII Grand Moscow International Beer Festival 2010 from the city budget has been allocated 10 million rubles. Chairman of the Organizing Committee will be Mayor of Moscow, Yuri Luzhkov.
As part of the beer festival on the area of more than 40 hectares will be created a "Beer City", which will host exhibitions and trade fairs, professional competition "Osiris" and traditional "People's tasting" of more than 100 variety of beers, about fifty most mouth-watering beer snacks and popular shashliks. Visitors of the festival also looks forward to quite an extensive entertainment program that includes numerous concerts with renowned artists of a wide variety of genres, football tournament and the Grand Prix of Moscow "The strongest man" in the scope of the Strongest Man World Cup.
Admission fee to the festival is 50 rub. Minimum price for a glass of beer is 20 rubles.
