Sand Sculpture Festival will be held in Moscow

On the coming Saturday in the park of one of the most famous exhibition centers in Moscow, VVC, will be opened International Sand Sculpture Festival "Famous fountains of the world."
This year Moscow International Sand Sculpture Festival will celebrate its 10th anniversary. To the audience will be presented sand copies of the most famous fountains not only from Russia, but also Austria, Britain, Belgium, Italy, Spain, France and many other countries. According to the information announced on the website of the exhibition center, some sculptures will be not only decorative elements, but the working copies of the famous fountains.
Preparatory works and manufacturing of sculptures was begun of the territory of VVC on April 24. The main action of the sand sculpture festival "The famous fountains of the world" will take place on one of the VVC sites near the pavilion №8 on April 30.
The main alley of VVC, near the Pavilion №1 "Central" will be decorated with sculptures dedicated to the Year of Spain and Italy was in Russia. Here will be created unique characters of Rome and Madrid - "Capitolin wolf" and "The bear and the arbutus".
During the festival of sand sculptures in Moscow's Exhibition Center will also be held sand sculpture World Championship, where will take part 20 sculptors from Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Finland, Mongolia, India, Spain, Mexico, the United States and other countries. Results announcing of the championship and awarding ceremony will be held on May 2.
Visitors of the festival will be able to vote for the favorite sculpture, which would later be awarded with the Audience Choice Award. Among other things, exhibition guests can expect vast entertainment program, lots of competitions and master classes in creating sand and ice sculptures.
Sand Sculpture Festival will be held in the VVC until 30 September 2011.
